General rules
- Put jewellery on last and take it off first: after perfume, lotions and make-up.
- Remove it when swimming, bathing or exercising.
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth; avoid hard brushes and chemicals.

Silver may oxidise over time; polish it with a silver cloth. Storing it in an airtight pouch slows tarnishing.
Soft stones
Amber, fluorite and lapis have a low Mohs hardness and are sensitive to scratches and heat; store them separately.
